Nevada County Nutcracker

Anika is a soldier. Ian is a Mouse. This is Ian's first year in the play. First time on a big stage. With the big sets and lights and music. He wasn't too sure at first.

But now? Now, it's fun! Now, let's do it again. That theater bug, the one that quickens the heart in that hush just before the lights go up and the action begins? That theater bug has been passed along.

They are both in it for the long haul. We have a show tonight and tomorrow. In fact, I better get my Mouse into costume. And let my soldier know- this year she's all independent. Own hair, own make-up, own walking-home-a-block after the show. Owning it. She's a soldier. And a Gingersnap. With the heart of the Mouse King :)
