Tahoe Memories in the Making

Vacation this year looks like mornings where I sit with two phones beside me so I can spin the Pokestop every few moments to gather supplies for the day.

Ping pong where our longest streak is 6 hits back and forth because someone fumbles which causes Ian to collapse on the floor laughing.

Pool games where Ian is finally, sort-of, learning to hit the white ball in a straight line.

Adventures to Taylor Creek and Vikingsholm, where the lake is deeply blue.

Only one night with clouds of any sort, so the sunsets are a rainbow of uninterrupted color stretching across the horizon.

The first night, we were treated to this incredible light show...

Blasting cold, gusty winds that tear around the building with howls, so that Ian asks, "Can tornados be here? What about hurricanes? How do you know?"

Anika and I did a card making class which became a challenge of how many unique designs can you make with three strips of paper? We thought of our supplies at home and how fortunate we are to be crafty.

Taking scenic photos and realizing what a vast and beautiful area surrounds this lake.

And Anika totally saw a Bald Eagle! :)

Watching Frozen and singing at the top of our lungs. Maybe a little jumping on the bed (not me, the kids :)).

And constant previews for a new cartoon on Disney that annoyed Anika daily. Until Ian decided that he really, really, wanted to see that show. And the joke became a little bit real. So we tuned into the channel while playing pool in the clubhouse. Well played, Disney, well played.

Vikingsholm! All that needs to be said. And said often, in a rallying voice. I have a post coming soon about the awesome accessibility plan that let me visit Vikingsholm. I so appreciate the docents there!

Mermaids.

Pools. Hot tubs. Hot tub at sunset. Capturing the Pokemon Gym at the clubhouse, only to lose it about three minutes later.

The random fun of days spent together, with laughter and occasional frustration, making the memories that last all year.

Last day today. Vacation awaits :)
